Aston Martin just threw off the covers of its newly updated Vantage, which now comes with a modified 655 horsepower motor that can power it onto a top speed of more than 200 mph. Not so “entry-level” anymore, is it.

And while it might be billed as “just” a facelift, this new Vantage has had the kind of glow up that the stars of ‘Queer Eye’ could only dream of. So we figured it was time to gather around the campfire and look at some of the prettiest pictures that Aston Martin had to share of the new Vantage.

So pull up a pew, sit back and relax while you take in everything the new Vantage has to offer. And who knows, there might be a surprise hiding at the end of the gallery.

The first thing you notice on the new Vantage is the updated front end, which is where the biggest changes have taken place. The newly-designed grille is needed to house a new cooling system for the AMG-sourced V8 that powers the new Vantage.

That engine isn’t just the same one you’ll find in the old car either, oh no. Now, it’s got a pair of larger turbos strapped to the side and Aston has been able to tinker around with the performance so it now produces an eye-watering 655 HP.

Aston Martin did extensive work inside the Vantage as well. Aston Martin has basically stripped away the old dash and replaced it with the interior you’ll find on the top-of-the-line DB12, which was launched just last year.

Just because it’s a new interior doesn’t mean it’s all touch screens inside. Thankfully, Aston has kept the real, physical buttons in place for essential tasks like drive mode selection and temperature controls.

To bring the new Vantage to a stop, Aston Martin has fitted the car with some mammoth brakes. There’s a pair of 15 ¾ inch rotors at the front and 14 inch rotors at the rear, which can also be upgraded to carbon ceramic brakes as an option.

Some things never change and the Aston Martin logo still adorns the hood of the new Vantage.

From this angle, the updated Vantage looks a lot like the old car. In actual fact, it’s around 30mm wider than last year’s model and comes with a new strake design along the side.

This is, of course, not the same car that you were oggling at before. Instead, it’s the new Vantage GT3 that Aston Martin has created to race at Le Mans later this year.

The race-ready version of the Vantage is packed with aerodynamic trickery to keep the engine cool and the car planted on the track. As such, there’s a massive wing at the rear and an even larger front splitter to maximize downforce.

Even the wheels and tires are different to the road car, with the bespoke Michelin Pilot S 5 tires no doubt thrown firmly in the trash and the forged 21" alloys replaced with something lighter and stronger.

So, given the chance, which one would you drive home today? The fearsome race car or the “toned down” road car that’ll only leave you with 655 hp to play with? Answers on a postcard.
